Topic Research: Buddha

The topic that I have chosen to do more in-depth research about is the topic of Buddha. The main online source that I plan on pulling my three stories from is the Life of Buddha Unit in the UnTextbook . For my project I want to tell stories that show how the Buddha came to be. I think the best way to do this would be to find about three stories that show three different times in Siddhartha’s (who becomes Buddha) life. After looking through the various chapters in the Buddha unit some of the stories that stood out to me were, "First Encounter" because this story marks the point were prince Siddhartha becomes aware of the unjust and the inescapable fate of old age. Which clouds his reality and he becomes less innocent and he losses his joy because now he has become more aware. This story kind of makes me think of the saying, “ignorance is bliss.” Additionally, the next story I like was "Siddhartha the Hermit" because it shows some pivotal points in the process of Siddhartha becoming Buddha. I also really like the two stories "The Tree of Knowledge" and "Siddhartha Becomes the Buddha." I think I would like to use four stories for my project. Or my last story in my storybook will be a combination of the previous two stories I mentioned. I feel these two stories are both really important in the theme that I'm trying to portray.
