Reading Notes: Aesop (Winter), Part A

The Aesop for children was a great read with many different life lessons and themes to explore. I really enjoyed The Lion and the Gnat story, especially the ending of how the gnat that beat the lion, ended up getting eaten by a measly spider. I thought the ending was a plot twist and it surprised me. I think I would want to tell a story that had an ending that would be very unexpected. Further, I liked how the lion was used as a character in this story and I think I would want my main character to be a lion as well. Also, in the story The Travelers and the Sea, what really caught my attention was the theme of the story, which was, do not let your reality become clouded by wants and desires. Moreover, I thought the dog stories, such as The Wolf and the Lean Dog and The Dogs and the Hides were interesting stories that give me the idea to incorporate a dog character into my own story. I could possible write a story about two animals that are very different, such as a dog and a lion. Where in order to survive they both must not let their temptations distract them from whats real.
