Famous Last Words: Surviving the First Round of Tests
This week for me was very hectic and stressful. I had two tests this week for my Histology class and a quiz in my Ecology class. Unfortunately, I did not have time do either reading this week. But I was able to do an extra credit reading on Sunday night. For that reading I read the Anderson Fairy Tales Unit Part A. I very much enjoyed the stories in this unit especially the Emperor’s New Suit. I can’t wait to create my own story from this unit, which I hopefully will be able to do in the next weeks to come. In my Histology class we had our first exam on Wednesday. The test included a lab practical portion and a written portion. The Lab part included looking into twenty-five different microscopes which each had a specific tissue or organ that we had to identify and write down on our test. We also were only given one minute at each microscope so I had to be quick and precise when writing down my answers. Next, we had fifty minutes to finish the short answer part of the exam. This section was completely short answer where we had to give the function structure, and location of the cell, tissue or organ in question. Overall, it was a very hard exam but the bright side is that now I know how to prepare for the rest of the exams this semester. As for my Ecology class we had a field day lab, where my group went to the duck pond to see how the ant activity responds to either a sugar nutrient or a salt nutrient. After my lab we had a quiz over the previous weeks material, which actually went very well. For next week I am excited to get back on track with this online class and I’m excited to really spend some time on the readings and writing my story for this week.
