Reading Notes: The Great Plains, Part B

For this week I decided to read the Great Plains unit. I thought the second part of this unit was really interesting and the story’s allowed me to unleash my imagination and dive into the world of the story. One story that I really enjoyed reading was The Spirit Land, which is from the Arapahoe tribe. This story had a great storyline filled with a lot of supernatural and magical elements. In my own story I plan on using mostly the same storyline but have it take place in modern time. As well as having my characters being more realistic. For example, In my story my leader will not be called crow but instead perhaps have a crow tattooed on his neck which will symbolize the color black, the same color of the night. Also Instead of the spirit and living worlds I think I’m going to use night and day as my two contrasting settings.
