Real Housewives of Greek Mythology
This storybook, “Real Housewives of Greek Mythology”, by Sandro Boticelli was really fun to read and I enjoyed the design of the piece. For instance, I thought it was unique that the story was written in a dialogue format and I think the author, Sandro Boticelli, did a great job with making it seem like an actual reality show. I was somewhat familiar with Greek mythology because when I was little I was obsessed with the Disney movie Hercules that initially sparked my interest on the topic. Then from there I have down some reading on the topic Greek mythology. Also, reality shows like “The Real House Wives..” and “Keeping up with the Kardashians” are a guilty pleasure of mine. Lastly, I think the introduction was set up perfectly and really set the stage for what the reader, myself, was about to get into.

The “Death’s Final Story” storybook I feel got better and better as you moved to the next story with the last one, “The Hardest One” being my favorite. I like how the author ended the story with a question as if to illustrate that the story is really never over, it just transforms into a new chapter. I think both the title and the introduction did a good job foreshadowing what the stories were about. The physical layout was very interesting specifically the images that were used. I think my favorite image was the space galaxy picture that was used for the introduction.

The storybook “Happily Ever Whatever,” by Ashley Cornett had a really good page design that corresponded well with the princess theme. I think I want to use a design feature that relates to my topic in my own project. The introduction really made me want to read the other stories. Further, I especially liked how the author ended the introduction with the reader wanting more.
