Reading Options

For the first reading assignment I overviewed the Myth-Folklore UnTextbook for about 45 minutes and browsed different story units that I found Interesting. The First story unit that caught my attention was the Unit: Buddha. I very much enjoy doing yoga and I have recently been getting into meditation, therefore I think being able to read “The Life of Buddha” by Andre Ferdinand Herold will be both insightful and stimulating. The next unit that I will enjoy investigating is Andersen Fairy Tales. This unit both has stories that I am familiar with and some that I have never herd of. I also am curious to read Andersen’s version of the “Little Mermaid” and compare and contrast it with Disney’s version. Furthermore, the Unit: Egyptian Myth, also grabbed my interest. I have always been fascinated by Ancient Egyptian History and I think this unit will offer a lot of different stories of the gods and goddesses of Egypt and how they were an important role in Egyptian History.
